Kawiporn Vinijthaopatom, 73, who goes by the name 'Aunt Tim', is the first Thai woman to appear on the packaging of a Hershey's chocolate bar as part of their 'SHE cares' campaign for International Women's Day.
Aunt Tim has been recognised for over 20 years of dedication to rescuing stray animals in Bangkok, Thailand and the surrounding provinces, where she actively cares for over 2000 dogs and cats.
Her journey began after she bought her family's first pet, a shitzu. She saw other dogs in the shops that nobody wanted and dogs that had been abandoned by vets and decided that she would give them a home. Since then, the animals in her home have started to increase in number.

Aunt Tim and her son, Anunthorn, wake up at dawn to take care of the 80 dogs at her house before going to work at the CHSAThai Stray Animal Shelter, which they opened in Saraburi more than 10 years ago. Together with a staff of 17, mainly women, Aunt Tim also makes rounds every evening to uninhabited areas to feed stray dogs and monkeys.
Operating solely on donations, including individuals and private donors, CHSAThai's monthly expenses are approximately 500,000 Thai baht (approximately USD 14,417).
