The story of Kusa, the record-breaking cat: he could become the largest in the world

There are animals that, without any special warning, reach enormous size already in the first months of life. Such is the story of Kusa, this cat who at not even a year old may already enter the Guinness world record for the most impressive growth.

Her owner, Chastity Hobbs, documented in some Instagram videos the miraculous growth of her pet, and wanted to share it with all her follower, receiving thousands of comments and like on all platforms and even ending up on the pages of many newspapers.

Below are photos of the incredible growth of this feline, at least three times the size of other animals at Chastity.

According to some researchers and trainers, the Maine Coon breed is sometimes confused with the Norwegian Cat. In truth, they are native to the American continent and can measure up to 1.20 meters when they finish their growth process. Dimensions, these, that Kusa reached in as little as a year.

Kusa at six months
The size at six months is already monstrous, but why could it become the largest in the world? The reason is that he would have to keep growing for years more, at least three, and this could lead him to really be a cat of enormous proportions.

Kusa at seven months
His owner, who is a photographer, spends really big, at least $140 a month, to feed Kusa. She is growing so fast that her owner is reportedly thinking of changing her home to allow her to live better on her size.

The owner also commented on the tonnage of Kusa at tabloid British Daily Star: "People are surprised when they see him. They always think he is crossed with a bobcat or something. The last time we weighed him he weighed 15 pounds (7 kg), but I think he has grown four or five pounds at least. He's had a huge growth spurt since then."

Note the size of Kusa compared to the other housecats Hobbs is truly amazing. Kusa plays almost shyly with others, afraid of hurting them, needs a litter box extra large and is generally much more challenging than a regular cat.

Kusa now (nine months)
At the moment, what Kusa looks like is this: huge, the size of a five-year-old child. No doubt we will hear more about this beautiful big cat, perhaps when he enters the Guinness World Record.
