Queen bee
Who is in charge in the hive? The queen bee, of course! The queen bee is at the top of the hierarchy, and she is the only one capable of fertilizing and laying eggs, unlike the males who live pretty much only to meet fertilization needs.

Orca
Here is another species where she, the female, rules: orcas! The oldest adult female within the group is the matriarch, who is responsible for procuring food and directing the movements of the group.

African lions
In the common imagination we think of the male lion as "the king of the savannah," but the truth is that in the family things are a little different. In fact, in the lion family it is the lionesses who are in charge: they practically always guide the movements of the group and take the leading role both in hunting and dividing up the prey and in defending the territory. Queens!
