Jonathan is a giant tortoise native to the Seychelles, believed to be the oldest living reptile on earth with an estimated age of 190 years, which was completed in December.
As confirmed by the Guinness World Records, on December 4, 2022 Jonathan the turtle turned 190 years old; it is believed that it was born in 1832. Local residents organized three days of celebrations for Jonathan's birthday , presenting a cake made entirely of her favorite healthy foods.
Jonathan belongs to the family of Aldabrachelys gigantea hololissa.
Although it is originally from Seychelles, Jonathan is found on St. Helena (Ascension and Tristan Da Cunha), where it was brought in 1882, along with three other turtles, at about 50 years of age.
Evidence of Jonathan 's age resides in a photograph that was initially thought to be from 1902, while other later investigations determined that it was actually from 1886. Measurements taken from the photograph show that Jonathan was already definitely mature in 1886.
As reported by Guinness World Records, Jonathan 's incredibly long life so far has spanned seven British monarchs, 53 British prime ministers and 40 U.S. presidents.
